Why You Should Not Throw Away a Receipt
Every day, we spend our income on many things. Whether it is a sandwich, coffee to go or fuel for the week. We already have a page on this site where we combined all the loyalty programs in Ireland and some worldwide ones that you could benefit from if you are living in Ireland. And we do not need to tell you again why it is important and what’s in it for you.
In this blog post, we decided to tell you about another aspect of shopping – receipts. So you bought something, you scanned your loyalty card, you paid, grabbed the stuff you bought (hopefully) and you either didn’t bother taking the receipt or you took it and immediately disposed it. We all have done it and some of us still do it.
Here are 3 reasons why you should think twice before you put that receipt into the bin:
- Proof of Purchase
- Additional Savings
Receipt is a Proof of Purchase
Whether it is a jumper you bought or a camera, a receipt is your proof of purchase. If it does not fit or if it is damaged, the receipt is your guarantee. Please check out consumer help for more information.
Some retailers have offers printed on the reversed side of the receipts. If you check them out you could find valuable or savings towards your future purchases. At the very least you might be in with a chance to something.
We hope those tips are useful and will help you to make the most of your money. If you have any comments or additional tips – please feel free to share those with us and our readers.
Many receipts have details for competitions if you just answer few questions, so why not donate your time with a purpose? If you do not win, at least you know you have contributed to a better product or service!
